Introduction & Site Navigation

Carey and Phil

Hello, we’re Phil and Carey Bolin. This website serves as a platform to explore our past boating trips and, for more recent times, provides insight into our family activities.

TO FOLLOW OUR CURRENT BOAT TRIP go to the “Blog of Events and Happenings” tab.

Under the “Blog of Events and Happenings” tab, you can find posts dating back to 2017. Furthermore, each page of this website features linked indexes to the blog posts.  The page tabs on this site links you to a “Contact” page, which allows you to leave comments, and the “Our Boating Adventures” page that ties you into all other boating activities.

The “Our Boating Adventures” page offers information about boats we’ve owned and can link you to pages documenting boating trips from 2014 to 2017 and to those before 2014.

We use this site to capture memories we want to preserve. Our friends are welcome to follow along or review and leave comments if they wish, but there’s no obligation. As we grow older, we’ll find great joy in revisiting our adventures.

Over the years since 2005, we’ve covered approximately 40,000 miles on our original boat, Apolonia, often accompanied by our dog, Maddie.  Maddie passed away earlier this year and we miss her. In July 2017, we sold our home in Colonial Beach, VA, and relocated to Florida. Initially, we settled in a Condo/Villa in Port St. Lucie, FL, but Carey soon realized she preferred a house over a condo. Consequently, we sold the condo and purchased a lovely home with a pool in the back yard. We also parted with the original Apolonia and acquired a new 37-foot express cruiser, which we also named Apolonia. This boat was ideal for Florida. We also had a 22′ picnic boat that we enjoyed for a number of years, but sold it in Florida because it required too much maintenance.

After some time, we decided to return to Colonial Beach, VA, where we wanted to live. We moved back and bought a small house to be closer to our old friends and the area. We also sold the second Apolonia and purchased a 42′ Grand Banks Trawler, which we are using to explore more of the northeastern region. We are also planning a November departure for another Bahamas trip.  We absolutely love it.
